Bristol is famous for Brunel’s spectacular Clifton Suspension Bridge, an absolute must see when visiting Bristol. For a brilliant view of the Suspension Bridge across the Avon Gorge it’s worth a trip to the Clifton Observatory, Camera Obscura  and Cave, but this one is best saved for a clear day to really appreciate the views.

To find out more about the city’s fascinating history why not visit one of the many museums such as the City Museum & Art Gallery or the Bristol Industrial Museum that looks at the city’s maritime and industrial heritage. There’s also the lovely Blaise Castle House Museum an 18th century house cataloguing what life was like back then.

Although Bristol has a strong maritime heritage, since the Harbourside’s recent overhaul this area is now better known for its trendy bars and restaurants. A quick way to get to know the area is to take a tour on one of the many ferryboats.
